MASHUURU CATHOLIC CHURCH
BISHOP OBALLA CONCLUDES PASTORAL VISIT TO MASHUURU PARISH
St. Peters Parish, Mashuuru in Kajiado Deanery is one Parish among many in the Diocese of Ngong with deep aspects of inculturation in evangelizing cultures especially the Maasai culture.
Having been established in 1999 after being curved off from Lenkisem Parish, Mashuuru Parish has experienced commendable growth in evangelization which has been attributed to the noble work of Guadalupe Missionaries who serve Mashuuru and Lenkisem Parishes.
Bishop John Oballa paid a six-day Pastoral visit to the Parish from 18th to 23rd June, 2024 which saw him engage with Christians in the five Sub-Parishes that are vastly spread, sharing their pastoral and development experiences, joys and challenges as well as their vision. The parish has 24 outstations which have been clustered in five sub-parishes of Mashuuru, Olperrelongo, Nkatu, Olpolosie le Rankau and Enkutoto.
During the pastoral visit of the parish which is dedicated to St. Peter the Apostle, it was evident that the parish has grown spiritually and materially, fruits of great collaboration between priests and leaders, leaders themselves and leaders with Christians.
It emerged that the priests, catechists and missionaries are available to serve Christians any time, and the faith of the Gospel is being preached all the time and everywhere. The youth and children are being accompanied to practise their faith and uphold good morals for their life now and in the future.
