A Holy Exchange in the Jubilee Year
In this month dedicated to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, Missionaries of Charity added into their list of vocations as they witnessed the profession and missioning of a young Missionary of Charity, Deacon Rene Moussa ordination to Priesthood.
“We participate in what the Fathers of the Church called the “holy exchange,” God’s call and the human response. It is the meeting point of divine grace and human freedom, where heaven bends to touch earth.” Bishop John Oballa
As he presided over the Sacred occasion, on the anniversary of the Congregation which was founded on 13th October 1984 by St. Teresa of Calcutta and Father Joseph Langford, Bishop Oballa said that, “God’s call is not abstract but intimate, a personal summons to love, to serve, and to bring others to His heart.” He added that, God’s call is definite, personal, and yet for others. He calls individuals not for self-fulfillment, but to be channels of His grace to the world.
The Bishop asked Rene to walk in a manner worthy of His calling, with all the lowliness and meekness, with patience, forbearing one another in love so that he may grow in the stature of the fullness of Christ.
“You are a priest forever to serve and live like and for the poorest of the poor. And by your witness of life, others will come to know God's love for the poor. By your witness of life, others will come to know the presence of Jesus in the poor.”
The function was attended by hundreds of Christians and religious together with the relatives of Fr. Rene from Benin. Below are photos of the day.
